INSURING PRODUCTS AND ENTIRE PROJECTS

The LED performance insurance covers total failure and two major performance risks for customers and financiers: lumen maintenance and color shift. If lumen output drops below 80% or the color in a single contiguous visual space differs more than 3 points within 5 years, the LED insurance is triggered.

CORPORATE COVER

The corporate cover insures manufacturers in case of error during the production
of LED products. It backs up warranties provided within the industry for LED
related products.
E.g. If lumen output drops due to an error in production and warrenty conditions
exceed a certain level, the insurer will indemnify the manufacturer as described.

OPTION COVER

OPTION COVER

The option cover insures the investors of LED projects in case the manufacturer is
insolvent. It backs up warranties provided within the industry for LED related
products with focus on large projects in case the manufacturer is insolvent.
It does not cover the manufacturer but the investor directly.
E.g. for street lighting new installations and retrofit projects, large industrial projects, etc.

Prof. Zhang of the University of Delft is one of the leading SSL experts worldwide. He contributed significantly to the establishment of the joint venture and is chairman of the advisory board. From 2005-2009 he was senior director of technology strategy for Philips Semiconductors, before he became SSL research fellow for Philips in Eindhoven.

Ling Wu is Secretary-General (from 2004) of the Chinese SSL Industry and Innovation Alliance (CSA), Director of the LED R&D program office of Ministry of Science and Technology, President (from 2012) of the Chinese State Key Laboratory of Solid State Lighting, and furthermore President (from 2015) of China Advanced Semiconductors Alliance (CASA). She was elected as the first Chair of ISA in 2010. Ling Wu has been playing a leading role not only for China’s SSL development, but most of all for a sustainable and healthy global SSL development.

RUISHENG YUE

Ruisheng Yue has been ISA’s secretary general since 2011. Between 2009-2011 he was the executive deputy director of the national project office of the China-EU Biodiversity Project, the director of the national project office of GEF’s Yangtze River Flood Project, Biodiversity Partnership Project and furthermore the Household Air Conditioners Efficiency and Energy Conservation Project.
